Audi Quattro is a turbocharged car featuring the permanent allwheel drive for the first time and the model is booming as a prominent rally car. Audi cars have been winning rallies as the Audi wheels are integrated with the advanced automotive technology. Audi wheels technology of four wheel drive allows all the wheels to get equivalent torque from the engine and the distributed torque provides better control to the drivers on all roads. The figure that is mostly used for all wheels is “4 X 4″ and the figure is the number of wheels and the number of powered wheels. When you have a figure 4 X 2 it means the power is transmitted only to two tyres of the vehicle but the 4X 4 technology transmits power to all the four Audi wheels. Since the new Audi wheels technology improves grip on road even on rough bumpy roads the car is mostly seen in rallies and in car racing. The 4 X 4 technology is mostly found in trucks and heavy vehicles. Even a manual switch is provided by many companies to the drivers to switch options from 4 X 4 to 4 X 2 in case of difficult weather conditions.

The Allwheel drive technology helps the drivers to drive on dry pavement as it employs the centre differential technology to allow the wheels to rotate at different speeds. Many driving issues like driveline binding and hopping can be reduced by AWD technology. The technology is present in only a few models of motor companies such as Audi MercedesBenz BMW and Volkswagen.
